The Party City With the Eclectic Art Scene

Miami is know for beaches, beauties, hot parties and art. Art!?!  Yes, art!  This is Miami we are talking about. When you are in Miami next be sure to get your fill of South Beach parties, Cuban coffee and sunny beaches.  You should also treat yourself to a walking tour to the Wynwood Arts District. If plan ahead, you can be there on the second Saturday of the month and participate in the Wynwood Art Walk.  This monthly event features extended hours (6:00 – 10:00 PM) for art galleries, retailers and art institutions in the area. You can walk from space to space feasting on works from a myriad of artists. The crowd swells and the festive vibe continues late until the night and often features live music.

During my first trip to Miami last year a friend suggested the Wynwood District as an alternative to the typical night out in Miami and he was right. There are great options for dining or having drinks before making your way to the galleries.  Miami is made for sipping and gawking so spend a little of that time at the art walk.  Here is a glimpse of a few of the works from my walk last year.

  1. I’ve visited several other cities that have amazing Street Art: Vancouver, BC and Seattle, Washington. I’ll see if I can dig up some photos of their murals for you to see… oh … and the city where I live (Guelph, Ontario) is home to Canada’s largest public art exhibit.
